After John Street was demolished, part of David Street  remains standing, it disappeared within days of this photo being taken.

The two Dr. McAnallen's lived and had their surgery in one of the big houses on the left. The detached square building top left was Church Street School, now belongs to St. Mark's Church and called Fergus Hall.

Behind the Church in Church Lane is Gaynors Snack Bar, a popular meeting place for the youths of the sixties, it is still there.

Photo taken from the then Northern Bank building in Market Street, the view shows the start of West Street, the tallest building was called 'The Home Stores' John Bennett's Pub is to the left of that, all gone now.
